Important Membership Updates
TMHA/PMHA Agreement

It is important for our membership to be aware that as of today we have not received official notice from PMHA in regards to the renewal of our agreement for next season.

The agreement calls for a Feb 1 deadline or the agreement automatically renews. PMHA did ask TMHA to engage in some dialogue on changing “minor” wording in the agreement which we met and agreed to in February. They were to bring this to their board. Fast forward three months later and we do not have an official commitment from PMHA. With that being said our Association is being affected by the lack of response as this could result in our players not having a place to play “A” hockey next season should PMHA back out of our agreement last minute. As a result we were left with no alternative but to apply to the NOHA for “A” cards at the U15, U13 and U11 levels beginning next season. For clarity, It has always been and still is TMHA’s intent to renew the agreement annually. We will continue to wait for their decision but our membership will have a place to play next season pending NOHA approval. New Motions brought forward at the NOHA AGM this weekend. TMHA will be attending the NOHA AGM this weekend in Sault Ste Marie where there will be a few important motions being tabled that were brought forward by Schumacher Minor Hockey and the NOHA. These motions include a freedom of movement at Tier2 which was brought forward by Schumacher as well as a motion for freedom of movement at T1. They included a specific 10km radius clause in it which applies to our District affecting Schumacher, PMHA and TMHA. The NOHA is also bringing forward a motion for freedom of movement at U7 as well. We will let our membership know the results of these motions at the conclusion of the AGM this weekend.
